Where we are

After Magdalene of Canossa’s death, her close companions, first M. Cristina Pilotti and subsequently M. Angela Bragato, as foreseen by Magdalene herself, guided the Institute giving rise to a wide expansion in the north of Italy. In 1860, the Canossian Missions began with the arrival of the first six Sisters in Hong Kong where they established schools, orphanages and health centres. The Canossian Sisters later ventured to other countries in the Far East, among them Timor and India. The zeal and fervour of the Sisters also brought them to America and Africa. Today, the world is their mission!
