Passion for God
To love God with her whole self, and to love the poor in the same way, had always been the passion of Magdalene of Canossa that she could not leave the One for the others and vice-versa. Browsing through the "Memoirs", her spiritual diary, we find the fundamental experiences which led her to a passionate commitment:
To please God- the desire to immerse one's life in "God alone"
To help the poor- the undeniable demand to care for those living at the margins of society.
To counteract evil- the imperative call of love to "prevent sin".
To go to the whole world- the missionary appeal of the universality of the Gospel, in order to announce to all the unconditional love of God.
To seek the glory of God- love's focus of truth, to reveal the Beloved's goodness, charity and holiness.
