Mary, Mother of Sorrows

Mary, at the foot of the cross, is contemplated as the Mother of the Greatest Love. At the foot of the cross, Mary participates in the sufferings of her Son for the salvation of humanity. Magdalene asks her companions to consider the Mother of Sorrows as their only Mother and this, as a demand of justice, truth, gratitude and of humble, devoted affection. For this reason, every Canossian Sister wears externally the medal representing the Mother of Sorrows who welcomes everyone in her heart with infinite love.
